The South Norfolk Jordan Bridge is a modern, high-level crossing over the southern branch of the Elizabeth River. The precast concrete segmental bridge is 5,375’ long with 150’ typical spans and a 385’ main span over the navigation channel, providing 145’ vertical and 270’ horizontal clearances. The bridge spans over a major navigation channel, an environmental superfund site, a park, active rail lines, and local roads. This toll bridge was accomplished in less than two years using 100% private funding without using any local, state, or federal money.
