

About the Role
Our Jacksonville, FL Field Office is seeking a CEI Senior Bridge Inspector to support the construction of the I-95 (SR 9) at North I-295 Interchange Project. A successful candidate will have knowledge of FDOT Construction Specifications and concrete construction practices. In this role you will perform construction inspections, materials sampling & testing and administrative activities to ensure compliance with FDOT requirements and the projects’ construction documents. Additionally, a successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in future Construction Engineering and Inspections services on some of the most significant bridge projects in the United States of America. Typical projects will include signature segmental concrete bridges and cable stayed bridges.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Coordinate with contractors’ staff, communicating effectively with all parties, and utilize good interpersonal skills
Verify the implementation of contract documents
Produce thorough inspection reports and maintain detailed records of work performed
Prepare and monitor internal FIGG project controls for field personnel
Produce and maintain punch lists
Proactively recognize complex construction or engineering problems and bring resolution with contractor
Apply standard testing techniques and procedures for the verification of materials
Mentor junior field staff and provide supervision as needed
Serve as the most senior bridge inspector when needed

Requirements
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Four Year Degree in Civil Engineering is preferred
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in construction inspection, two (2) years of which shall have been in bridge construction inspection
Experience working on FDOT projects is preferred
Able to read and interpret complex plans, specifications and shop drawings
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with a heavy emphasis on Excel and Word
Able to work at heights, in confined spaces and marine environments
Applicant must have a valid driver’s license and clear motor vehicle report
Able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to work a shift schedule and/or flexible schedule as required to support the workload
Ability to communicate and work in a team oriented environment

CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level 1
CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level 2 (Bridges)
CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection
CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
CTQP Final Estimates Level 1
CTQP Grouting Technician Level 1
CTQP Post-Tensioning Technician Level 1

FDOT Intermediate MOT
Florida Stormwater, Erosion and Sedimentation Control Certification
