JFK Light Rail System
New York, NY

The JFK Light Rail System will allow travelers to move between the airport terminals, parking areas and Howard Beach Station (hub for much transportation in the New York area). A portion of the system is elevated above the median of the busy Van Wyck Expressway. Segments were precast in Cape Charles, VA and then barged 250 miles to New Jersey, then trucked 100 miles to the site. The system has 5,409 segments the most of any segmental bridge in America, with nearly every span being unique to the required curvature.
