Hanging Lake Viaduct
Glenwood Canyon, CO

Hanging Lake Viaduct’s design enhanced its environmentally sensitive location as part of the I-70 Glenwood Canyon project in Colorado. The project site is in an extremely steep and narrow portion of the canyon. In addition to providing a design that would protect the environment, traffic flow had to be maintained. The solution was to build the viaducts from above. The $34 million bridge was completed five months ahead of schedule.
